But you will be overwhelmed with choices, as it’s sometimes hard to tell if products marketed as essential baby furniture and equipment are really necessary, or just fancy optional items which will actually get very little use.

Essential baby furniture includes a place for the baby to sleep, a changing table, a rocking chair, storage, and a car seat. Safety is paramount when it comes to baby furniture, as carefully chosen furniture will surround your baby in comfort.

Cribs are vital part of baby nursery furniture, it is the only place you should ever consider leaving your baby unattended, even for a short time. Choose a baby crib that is made from quality materials. They are often made of wood or iron. You may decide on purchasing a 3 in 1 crib. These very unique cribs can be converted from a crib into a toddler bed, and then into a day bed or full size bed.

It is great to place your infant on a comfortable changing table with all the necessary items close at hand. Most changing tables have shelves underneath the tabletop where you can keep everything you need for changing your baby. Also look for safety features, such as guardrails and perhaps even safety straps, and of course it needs to be well padded.

Instead of having clothes, diapers, nappies, shoes and other accessories scattered in different drawers and places in the house, it wise to invest in storage chests or closets where you can store the baby’s things in one place. Aside from that, this baby furniture will also make finding things much easier for the mother and can save a lot of time.

A rocking chair is a time-honored piece of baby furniture; a rocker is one of the most used and loved items. A comfortable rocking chair or glider rocker will be invaluable for those late night feedings or when singing a lullaby to the baby.

A nursery would not be complete without a rocking chair. The rocking chair is an indispensable piece of baby furniture for both you and your baby. It’s important to choose one that is comfortable for you as you will be able to sit and enjoy reading to, cuddling up and just holding your new baby while rocking away the time.

Bassinets, cradles and Moses baskets can be useful too as they can be a convenient and comfortable sleeping place for your baby during the first few months. Moreover, you can carry these small portable baby beds from room to room, letting you keep a close watch on your sleeping baby. When your baby gets a little older, it’s really nice to add strollers and a high chair. A good wireless baby monitor is also great baby furniture for the parents’ peace of mind and baby’s safety.

Whole Turkey Baking Tips

When buying turkey at the store get the one that has pop up timer. When the pop up timer pop’s up means your turkey is ready.

Follow the instruction that came with the turkey as it tells you what temperature and how long it suppose to be cooked by pound.

When you bought a frozen turkey the day before cooking and don't have time to defrost it?
The night before you go to bed wash the turkey and put it on a bucket of ice and water with kosher salt. Live it in the garage overnight. As soon you wake up in the morning rinse the turkey and remove the giblets and clean the inside. Cover the end of turkey legs with aluminum foil so it wont burn.

If you want more flavor on your turkey try sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder then rub olive oil before baking. The result is yummy crispy turkey skin and juicy meat in the inside.

Contraceptive Pills (Birth Control)

I watch Dr. G The medical examiner last night on tv. The episode was about the 26 year old woman who has a seizure while dinning with her husband and died 3 days later at the hospital. Dr. G who’s medical examiner examine the body to determine the cause of her death. Unfortunately the cause of her death was a blood clot cause by taking contraceptive pills ( birth control). Dr. G said Taking birth control pills the increase of estrogen disturb the delicate balance of your body. Smoking while taking birth control have a risk of developing a blood clot.

I’ve heard, seen on the news on tv, read on the internet and some lawsuit that using birth control patch has a huge potential of getting a blood clot because of the method of estrogen absorb directly to your skin and it has high amount of estrogen in it compare to the Oral birth control pills and woman who smoke will definitely have a high risk of getting a blood clot that leads to heart attack and some other complication or death.
I’ve use birth control patch for 3 years and I smoke occasionally but I’m fine. Nothing happen, I actually liked it. Unlike pills I tried taking them but I always forget, spotting all the time and I hated it so I decided to go back on patch. My menstrual cycle always in time and normal. I stop taking it since my husband got fix. I have lot of friends that smoke while taking contraceptive pills and still alive. Dr. G said there’s a little blood clot normally form on our blood stream. Unfortunately some blood clot build up and cut lose and manage to travel all the way to the heart or lungs or other major organ and block the blood flow to it and in worst case will lead you to death. Contraceptive pills are not dangerous at all but on the case of 26 yrs old woman her family had a history of blood clot. She’s young and healthy woman but if she know about the her family history she would off been still alive today.
For the woman out there, talk to your doctor before taking contraceptive pills and know your own family medical history as it helps you diagnose and prevent the unfortunate event like this.

Microwave Cleaning Tips

I’m not a fan of everyday cleaning so I always find a way to clean stuff on quick and easy way.

Everybody wants to keep their microwave clean all the time right? Well here’s how to clean your microwave quick and even while your cooking.
First boil a 2 cups of water in microwavable glass measuring cup about 4 minutes or more.
After it boil do not remove from microwave. Let it set for about 3 minutes or until the microwave inside covered with the steam from boiled water then wipe it off with warm washcloth. (Steam from the boiling water helps soften food splatter for easy cleaning.)

For stainless steel microwave, wipe inside the microwave with soapy warm washcloth. Rinse the washcloth until soap is gone then use it to wipe the soapy microwave until no more visible food splatter.

For slickly shine look, spray water diluted LYSOL inside then wiped it off with warm washcloth and finished it with clean dry cloth.

PS: Do not use vinegar as it stink your microwave for a while. I did it once and never again.

Which One Came First Chicken Or Egg?

WHICH ONE CAME FIRST, IS IT THE CHICKEN OR THE EGG?

9 out of 10 answered chicken. Their explanation was that the chicken should be the first to exist because it is the chicken who laid the egg.

What is your answer?

I ask myself the same question since when I was a kid and can’t make up my mind which one came first until last night. I thought of dinosaur, since study sudjest that some birds we see today are closely related to dinosaur. As we know chickens are bird. When dinosaur slowly died out and driven to extinction some of them manage to evolve. Paleontologist found a whole fossilize body of a bird like dinosaur in China with a feather still intact. Scientist said that when the asteroid strike on Earth millions of years a ago is the cause why dinosaur went extinct but before they completely wiped out some evolve into new species and some mutation occurred and maybe eventually some of them laid egg which hatch into a chicken. Make since isn’t it? Even our species still missing a link.

The dinosaur laid egg which later hatched into a chicken the chicken reproduced more egg to make more chicken and so on.

There you go the answer is clear “EGG” came first.

For Woman Who Suffer Migraines

Like myself I often get a headaches before or during my monthly period. And my doctor told me that due to estrogen withdraws often migraines or simply headaches always occur. Estrogen been positively related to breast cancer.
And recent study woman who suffer from migraines might indicate 30% reduces the risk of breast cancer.

Including woman who have lower estrogen has a lower risk of breast cancer but yet still no known way to prevent breast cancer.
Best way to early prevention is to have a regular check up and yearly mammogram depending on your age.

I recently order this book from my kids school December SCHOLASTIC called BOLT JUNIOR NOVEL with 8 pages of color photos from the movie. Apparently my order wont be here yet. My kid can’t wait to watch the movie so I order it for him but it might get here late November or maybe early December.
